A hard shot by Ekialde Muelas from long distance, 3 minutes into the match, got Cristos Cainzos's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Benigno Tarin kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ugutz Cuervas in the 9th minute of play forced Granada's goalkeeper Cristos Cainzos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rosario Diaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eli Acosta having to interfere. Cleto Carrasco hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 16th match minute, El Mamí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ugutz Cuervas to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Víctor Calatayud got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ugutz Cuervas in the 22nd minute of play forced Granada's goalkeeper Cristos Cainzos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Ugutz Cuervas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Mamí's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ugutz Cuervas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ugutz Cuervas in the 26th minute of play forced Granada's goalkeeper Cristos Cainzos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Paulino Zurica got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Granada's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Víctor Calatayud fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Paulino Zurica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eli Acosta having to interfere. Eli Acosta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Zurica in the 45th minute of the match. When Paulino Zurica came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Granada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Zurica couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Ugutz Cuervas made the kick off in the second half. If Rosario Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the El Mamí defense, Paulino Zurica kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eli Acosta. The El Mamí fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eli Acosta should have stopped the shot. Cristos Cainzos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ugutz Cuervas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rosario Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 74 minutes into the match, Granada's goal looked a bit too open when Víctor Calatayud came free, but Cristos Cainzos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ugutz Cuervas in the 75th minute of play forced Granada's goalkeeper Cristos Cainzos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Rosario Diaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eli Acosta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulino Zurica got free with Eli Acosta in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Rosario Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víctor Calatayud in the 89th minute of play forced Granada's goalkeeper Cristos Cainzos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristos Cainzos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ugutz Cuervas in the 90th minute of the match. If Ugutz Cuervas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Víctor Calatayud suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field.
