Tadeo Villafane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego De Toro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeo Villafane having to interfere. When Agustín Olle came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the sporting de gijon F.C.B fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Olle couldn't finish the play. When Fabricio Lagunas fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brieves CD's protests and gave Fabricio Lagunas a yellow card for diving instead. The Tadeo Villafane was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Diego De Toro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Tadeo Villafane when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Adán Verdeja was extremely unlucky when he, in the 77th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Cruz Lozano hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Diego De Toro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Tadeo Villafane made a huge save. 89 minutes into the game, Diego De Toro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Tadeo Villafane was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Ovando Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute.
