After a defensive mix-up in Real Club Celta de Vigo's zone, Adriano Cortes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ludvig Skålberg came out of the goal and Adriano Cortes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, Portbou AFC's goalkeeper Garci Gala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antimo Sobrado. Ludvig Skålberg came out of the goal and Adriano Cortes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 16 played minutes Real Club Celta de Vigo got a freekick which was hit by Ximun Solo. When Luis-Javier Palomar came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Portbou AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis-Javier Palomar couldn't finish the play. Gil Antunez kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Real Club Celta de Vigo were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Portbou AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Santi Ponce De Leon took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Antimo Sobrado managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Clemencin Ballesteros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garci Gala having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Luis-Javier Palomar got free with Ludvig Skålberg in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Garci Gala stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clemencin Ballesteros's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Garci Gala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemencin Ballesteros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Portbou AFC's Bernabé Alavedra got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute of the match Santi Ponce De Leon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Garci Gala skillfully saved the ball. Luis-Javier Palomar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Portbou AFC's Garci Gala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemencin Ballesteros in the 72nd minute of play. Luis-Javier Palomar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ludvig Skålberg having to interfere. The supporters of Portbou AFC booed when Real Club Celta de Vigo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ximun Solo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute of the match Macedonio Iniesta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Garci Gala skillfully saved the ball. Garci Gala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ximun Solo in the 83rd minute of play. Real Club Celta de Vigo's Ludvig Skålberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Real Club Celta de Vigo from getting a goal against them. In the 87th match minute, Real Club Celta de Vigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Espiridion Gomar to maneuver through the defense. Bernabé Alavedra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ludvig Skålberg. Real Club Celta de Vigo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Luis-Javier Palomar could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Ludvig Skålberg however easily saved by the left post. Clemencin Ballesteros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Portbou AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
