Atilano Lama was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 32 minutes into the game, Baltasar Pantoja was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Viavelez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD San Fernando the free kick. With a little luck, CD San Fernando's Germán Viqueira got control of the ball when Cosme Olano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bastia Alfaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Viavelez players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CD San Fernando were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Celio Suarez made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in CD San Fernando's zone, Niceto Lorenzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Germán Viqueira came out of the goal and Niceto Lorenzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 53 played minutes Viavelez got a freekick which was hit by Baltasar Pantoja. The audience was convinced that Celio Suarez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Atilano Lama was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. When Haroldo Griful fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD San Fernando's protests and gave Haroldo Griful a yellow card for diving instead. Haroldo Griful hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Adrián Nueva hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when CD San Fernando's Celio Suarez in the 72nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Atilano Lama was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Viavelez through an amazing save. Geofredo Palencia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Niceto Lorenzo struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Germán Viqueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viavelez. If Bastia Alfaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of CD San Fernando booed when Viavelez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bastia Alfaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Viavelez supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching CD San Fernando's performance. The match ended with a win for CD San Fernando.
