The supporters of Extremadura U.D. booed when Cuevas De San Marcos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcio Losada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iván Blazquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Demario Losada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nacho Casero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Higuera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Iratze Dellasierra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 minutes of play Cuevas De San Marcos's Marcio Losada was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 14 played minutes Cuevas De San Marcos got a freekick which was hit by Marcio Losada. Iván Blazquez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Demario Losada read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Patricio Santalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Extremadura U.D.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Santalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Belarmino España kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Iván Blazquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demario Losada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Extremadura U.D.'s zone, Tiburcio Jauregui stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iratze Dellasierra came out of the goal and Tiburcio Jauregui tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the game, Patricio Santalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Demario Losada was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Iván Blazquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Demario Losada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiburcio Jauregui sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Cuevas De San Marcos's Demario Losada proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Cuevas De San Marcos from getting a goal against them. Iratze Dellasierra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Jauregui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Giorgio Canyelles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Extremadura U.D.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Giorgio Canyelles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Demario Losada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iván Blazquez might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Demario Losada. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iván Blazquez ran back to his position shaking his head. Jaime Higuera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Extremadura U.D.'s goal looked a bit too open when Tiburcio Jauregui came free, but Iratze Dellasierra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belarmino España in the 95th minute of play forced Extremadura U.D.'s goalkeeper Iratze Dellasierra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Extremadura U.D.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
