An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Campos in the 14th minute of play forced BARCELONA CF's goalkeeper Bertin De Paula to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, BARCELONA CF's Miliano Feal got a free kick in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the game, BARCELONA CF's Veikko Avaja nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gabri Elias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The supporters of Roda De Ter FC booed when BARCELONA CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chus Carro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gero Jaraba took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bertin De Paula. BARCELONA CF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience was convinced that Veikko Avaja's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gabri Elias was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. After 27 played minutes Roda De Ter FC got a freekick which was hit by Heriberto Abrego. Gabri Elias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Veikko Avaja's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 32nd match minute, Roda De Ter FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garcilaso Landa to maneuver through the defense. 0-3 became the score in the 33rd minute when Júlio Salinas elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Celio Marimon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gabri Elias having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Veikko Avaja in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabri Elias saved Roda De Ter FC from getting behind. Heriberto Abrego got his second yellow card in the match during the 41st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. If Veikko Avaja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Veikko Avaja to make the kick off. After having played for 66 minutes, Júlio Salinas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BARCELONA CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Salinas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gabri Elias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Veikko Avaja's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. A hard shot 72 in the game by Veikko Avaja from a close distance when the talented Gabri Elias managed to make a qualified save. Roda De Ter FC's players were relieved. After 78 played minutes BARCELONA CF got a freekick which was hit by Salomone Costeras. In the 84th minute, Pepe Barro sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Roda De Ter FC's Gabri Elias didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Roda De Ter FC's Ubarna Pacheco got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute, Veikko Avaja ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gabri Elias was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Roda De Ter FC's Ubarna Pacheco got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Veikko Avaja put it in 1-5 from a short distance just to the right of Gabri Elias. BARCELONA CF's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
