Hernán Vazquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, U.D. GRAN CANARIA's goalkeeper Hernán Vazquez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sinforoso Balboa. Sinforoso Balboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Hernán Vazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hernán Vazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tirso Campomanes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cabanyes's Tirso Campomanes in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U.D. GRAN CANARIA's goalie prevented a goal. José Villalcazar's late challenge caught a Cabanyes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Villalcazar helped the player get up and apologised. Typhon Verdu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loreto Villar having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, U.D. GRAN CANARIA's Pepe Morales sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Loreto Villar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Blanco Echeto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lauren Vuelta was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 34th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Typhon Verdu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Typhon Verdu might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Loreto Villar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Typhon Verdu ran back to his position shaking his head. Loreto Villar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepe Morales, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tirso Campomanes to strike the kick off in the second half. Tirso Campomanes struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Hernán Vazquez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cabanyes. After having played for 57 minutes, Pepe Morales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U.D. GRAN CANARIA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pepe Morales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute, Pepe Morales reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Loreto Villar. The goal made the score 1-1. Pepe Morales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loreto Villar having to interfere. Hernán Vazquez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sinforoso Balboa's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Blanco Echeto's late challenge caught a U.D. GRAN CANARIA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blanco Echeto helped the player get up and apologised. Blanco Echeto hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Tirso Campomanes struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Hernán Vazquez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cabanyes. In the 96th match minute, Cabanyes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blanco Echeto to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
