After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Eduino Ferrer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piadeta UD's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduino Ferrer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peyo Vazquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Belisario Balboa's late challenge caught a Las Torres de Cotillas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Belisario Balboa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Piadeta UD getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Belisario Balboa hit a great ball. Las Torres de Cotillas's Peyo Vazquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduino Ferrer in the 14th minute of play. Apal Etxeberria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mariano Cainzos having to make a save. Apal Etxeberria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Cainzos having to interfere. After 35 minutes of play, Las Torres de Cotillas's Apal Etxeberria made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mariano Cainzos was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ibar Estrada was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Piadeta UD's zone, Apal Etxeberria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mariano Cainzos came out of the goal and Apal Etxeberria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aresti Barro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Mariano Cainzos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Piadeta UD's goal looked a bit too open when Aresti Barro came free, but Mariano Cainzos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Piadeta UD's Belisario Balboa got a free kick in the 64th minute. The supporters of Piadeta UD booed when Las Torres de Cotillas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Millán Menendez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aresti Barro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Las Torres de Cotillas's Nicodemo Cienfuegos got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Las Torres de Cotillas booed when Piadeta UD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chan Castelao didn't get a good kick on the ball. Apal Etxeberria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Mariano Cainzos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peyo Vazquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Nobo in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apal Etxeberria in the 85th minute of play forced Piadeta UD's goalkeeper Mariano Cainzos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Las Torres de Cotillas booed when Piadeta UD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Máximo Obis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Las Torres de Cotillas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Piadeta UD had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
