Idacio Rubio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phillip Salvia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Juan-Carlos Cuevas made a huge save. In the 14th minute Alberto Acosta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan-Carlos Cuevas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 15 minutes, Idacio Rubio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Migjorn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Idacio Rubio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Acosta in the 24th minute of play forced Ezquerococha's goalkeeper Juan-Carlos Cuevas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan-Carlos Cuevas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Acosta, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Fe Cartagena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ekhi Casta in the 33rd minute of play. When Ezquerococha's Moncho Barrios in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alberto Acosta was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Idacio Rubio managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Migjorn's supporters rose to their feet, but Idacio Rubio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan-Carlos Cuevas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alberto Acosta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Juan-Carlos Cuevas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Idacio Rubio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan-Carlos Cuevas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Idacio Rubio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Juan-Carlos Cuevas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Moncho Barrios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fe Cartagena having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Ezquerococha's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Acosta came free, but Juan-Carlos Cuevas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Idacio Rubio struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Juan-Carlos Cuevas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Migjorn. 75 minutes into the match, Ezquerococha's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Acosta came free, but Juan-Carlos Cuevas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juan-Carlos Cuevas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Acosta in the 86th minute of the match. Alberto Acosta struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Juan-Carlos Cuevas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Migjorn. After a defensive mix-up in Ezquerococha's zone, Idacio Rubio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan-Carlos Cuevas came out of the goal and Idacio Rubio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. CD Migjorn's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
