Truylos Fuentes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aratz Carro in the 4th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Baudelio Quesada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villarta De San Juan AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Baudelio Quesada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Truylos Fuentes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute Lalo Valdés shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Arratia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pumalverde's Truylos Fuentes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baudelio Quesada in the 26th minute of play. Maurin Balboa's late challenge caught a Pumalverde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurin Balboa helped the player get up and apologised. Maurin Balboa hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Pumalverde's Paco Bartumeu got a free kick in the 34th minute. Truylos Fuentes made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Aratz Carro sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Asier Molina in the 47th minute of play forced Villarta De San Juan AD's goalkeeper Rosendo Arratia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Truylos Fuentes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baudelio Quesada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th minute of the match, Gaudencio Casillas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rosendo Arratia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
