With a couple of smart ball manuevers Quico Martin in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oriche Diaz saved Obafemi Martins FC from getting behind. Jaizki Encina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Vilalta's zone, Joey Pedriza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angel Herrero came out of the goal and Joey Pedriza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaizki Encina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Velasco Incera kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Quico Martin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oriche Diaz having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Jaizki Encina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vilalta's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaizki Encina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oriche Diaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oriche Diaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quico Martin in the 27th minute of play. When Quico Martin came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Vilalta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quico Martin couldn't finish the play. Ramiro Coya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angel Herrero having to interfere. Angel Herrero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joey Pedriza in the 37th minute. Joey Pedriza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angel Herrero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Coya in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quico Martin made a kick off. Oriche Diaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quico Martin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Quico Martin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oriche Diaz was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. The supporters of Obafemi Martins FC booed when Vilalta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eneto Zamora didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaizki Encina might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oriche Diaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaizki Encina ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 98th minute Joey Pedriza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angel Herrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
