Aznar Folch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quinito Lacorte having to interfere. Quinito Lacorte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aznar Folch in the 4th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Guns got a freekick which was hit by Rio Novo. Quinito Lacorte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Macías, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th match minute, Guns was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rio Novo to maneuver through the defense. After 17 played minutes, NPM's Evarado Tormes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Quinito Lacorte came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in NPM reached it. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Aznar Folch sped through Guns's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Quinito Lacorte. Euloxu Buenafuente acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 23rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ganix Vera. Quinito Lacorte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aznar Folch's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. NPM's Euloxu Buenafuente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Garate in the 28th minute of play. Jakes Solana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Mera kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 35th match minute, NPM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernando Santos to maneuver through the defense. If Santiago Garate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aznar Folch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. NPM's Aznar Folch got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Aznar Folch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Santiago Garate made the kick off in the second half. Quinito Lacorte made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Igor Macías sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of NPM booed when Guns was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fero Vicente didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Emilio Campomanes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NPM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guns the free kick. After a rather tough play, NPM's Emilio Campomanes got a free kick in the 54th minute. Aznar Folch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 played minutes, NPM's Godfredo Verges shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Quinito Lacorte came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in NPM reached it. When Santiago Garate fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guns's protests and gave Santiago Garate a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Guns got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Garate. Euloxu Buenafuente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakes Solana, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After some careless play in the Guns defense, Igor Macías kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Quinito Lacorte. The Guns fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Quinito Lacorte should have stopped the shot. 86 minutes into the match, Guns's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Campomanes came free, but Quinito Lacorte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Guns's Rio Novo got a free kick in the 91st minute. Igor Macías who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Quinito Lacorte when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aznar Folch in the 93rd minute of play forced Guns's goalkeeper Quinito Lacorte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Aznar Folch managed to get in a good position for a shot. NPM's supporters rose to their feet, but Aznar Folch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Quinito Lacorte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. NPM had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
