Tudor Rotariu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedicto Abasalo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Andrés-Fernando Abasalo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Cisco Hevia made a huge save. In the 84th minute Rafael Larpe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedicto Abasalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Odilon Belalcaraz hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Andrés-Fernando Abasalos short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Cisco Hevia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cisco Hevia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenech Millán, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Cisco Hevia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domenech Millán in the 90th minute of the match. Benedicto Abasalo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Froilan Amer went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Rafael Larpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Abasalo having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Athletic United fully deserved thier win.
