Cosme Ruiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without García Gonzalez having to interfere. Martindegi's Juan-Alfredo Palencia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tebaldo Escobar in the 27th minute of play. Juan-Alfredo Palencia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Favila Delgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Martindegi's goal looked a bit too open when Favila Delgado came free, but Juan-Alfredo Palencia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lazcano Nieto got free with García Gonzalez in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 76th minute, Cosme Ruiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Manuel Bueno fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jesús Pobre's protests and gave Manuel Bueno a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Jesús Pobre getting a freekick after 83 minutes play.
