Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Martindegi's Cosme Ruiz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luis Bencoiechea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Truylos Urquijo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Juan-Alfredo Palencia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th play minute Luis Bencoiechea came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Juan-Alfredo Palencia. 1-0. Juan-Alfredo Palencia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthew Marcilla in the 17th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Porcuna:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Martindegi:s goal. Juan-Alfredo Palencia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luis Bencoiechea in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Porcuna's zone, Cosme Ruiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Beloki came out of the goal and Cosme Ruiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lucas Beloki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosme Ruiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Martindegi's zone, Luis Bencoiechea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan-Alfredo Palencia came out of the goal and Luis Bencoiechea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luis Bencoiechea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lucas Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosme Ruiz in the 39th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Porcuna defense, Lazcano Nieto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucas Beloki. The Porcuna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucas Beloki should have stopped the shot. After 44 minutes, Gilen Solera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Martindegi and the Porcuna players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Porcuna booed when Martindegi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilen Solera didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Porcuna's Poncio Casero tried to score from far away in the 45th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the game, Truylos Urquijo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Porcuna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Martindegi the free kick. The supporters of Martindegi booed when Porcuna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Truylos Urquijo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Eliseo Manzano missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 48 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Lucas Beloki right hand side. If Luis Bencoiechea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lazcano Nieto succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 54th playminute. Lucas Beloki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosme Ruiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Lazcano Nieto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Martindegi's supporters rose to their feet, but Lazcano Nieto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucas Beloki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 68 minutes into the match, Porcuna's goal looked a bit too open when Cosme Ruiz came free, but Lucas Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Luis Bencoiechea came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Porcuna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Bencoiechea couldn't finish the play. If Lazcano Nieto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Bencoiechea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan-Alfredo Palencia having to interfere. Lazcano Nieto came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lucas Beloki could save by the left post. After some careless play in the Porcuna defense, Lazcano Nieto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucas Beloki. The Porcuna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucas Beloki should have stopped the shot. Martindegi's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
