In the 23rd minute, Xabier Planes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, QUIJOTE CF's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Rico came free, but Honorio Bencoiechea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Aurelio Rico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Honorio Bencoiechea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of QUIJOTE CF booed when Nueva Atalaya was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Rico didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rolando Zubiaga fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nueva Atalaya's protests and gave Rolando Zubiaga a yellow card for diving instead. Rolando Zubiaga kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gero Izquierdo in the 56th minute of play forced Nueva Atalaya's goalkeeper Izar Erosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Nueva Atalaya's Xabier Planes got a free kick in the 57th minute. When Nueva Atalaya's Aurelio Rico in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye QUIJOTE CF's goalie prevented a goal. Javier Zubizarreta's late challenge caught a Nueva Atalaya's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. After 62 played minutes QUIJOTE CF got a freekick which was hit by Javier Zubizarreta. 66 minutes in the game, Aurelio Rico fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Honorio Bencoiechea having to interfere. Honorio Bencoiechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Rico in the 74th minute of play. Aurelio Rico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Honorio Bencoiechea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Honorio Bencoiechea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aurelio Rico's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, QUIJOTE CF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Aurelio Rico fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Aurelio Rico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in QUIJOTE CF's zone, Aurelio Rico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorio Bencoiechea came out of the goal and Aurelio Rico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Filomeno Aballe hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Honorio Bencoiechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Rico in the 95th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Nueva Atalaya's Constantino Orozco got a free kick in the 97th minute. The Nueva Atalaya players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
