After a defensive mix-up in La Recueja's zone, Apolo Astudillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jose-Luis Babia came out of the goal and Apolo Astudillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, La Recueja's Jose-Luis Babia got control of the ball when Apolo Astudillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Francis Alcalde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Elixio Vallejo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, La Recueja's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Apolo Astudillo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Isandro Serena managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Recueja's supporters rose to their feet, but Isandro Serena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elixio Vallejo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jose-Luis Babia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaston Echeto in the 22nd minute of the match. Francis Alcalde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Apolo Astudillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose-Luis Babia having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Apolo Astudillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gaston Echeto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Apolo Astudillo got free with Jose-Luis Babia in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Lancha De Cenes FC's Gaston Echeto in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye La Recueja's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isandro Serena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Dino Manrique fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lancha De Cenes FC's protests and gave Dino Manrique a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Denis Moreira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lancha De Cenes FC's Elixio Vallejo didn't even have to move. After 58 minutes of play, La Recueja's Francis Alcalde made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elixio Vallejo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Apolo Astudillo managed to get in a good position for a shot.
