Athletic club de Basauri's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jerico Treviño in the 6th minute. The corner led Athletic club de Basauri's Jerico Treviño to fire away a dangerous shot which Alifonso Guijarro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 8th minute, Anacleto Caminero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the game, Ion Galdamez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Athletic club de Basauri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD Badajoz the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Athletic club de Basauri:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CD Badajoz:s goal. In the 20th minute, CD Badajoz's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Anacleto Caminero fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 22nd minute, Jairo Vazquez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CD Badajoz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A collision led to CD Badajoz getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Esteve Menendez hit a great ball. Jerico Treviño was extremely unlucky when he, in the 34th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Doroteo Marques charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Doroteo Marques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 played minutes Athletic club de Basauri got a freekick which was hit by Doroteo Marques. Jerico Treviño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Alifonso Guijarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nastasio Mas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alifonso Guijarro having to interfere. Athletic club de Basauri's Anacleto Caminero got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jerico Treviño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nastasio Mas was the one to do the kick off. Athletic club de Basauri's Anacleto Caminero got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Doroteo Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alifonso Guijarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerico Treviño, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Santiago Martínez hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, Athletic club de Basauri's Ion Galdamez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ion Galdamez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Athletic club de Basauri protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ion Galdamez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of CD Badajoz booed when Athletic club de Basauri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ion Galdamez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anacleto Caminero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in CD Badajoz's zone, Doroteo Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alifonso Guijarro came out of the goal and Doroteo Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute of the match Carmelo Uria sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alifonso Guijarro skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Doroteo Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Athletic club de Basauri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doroteo Marques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Athletic club de Basauri's Nastasio Mas got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Epicuro Companys showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Munio Mata in the 82nd minute of the match. If Nastasio Mas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Athletic club de Basauri walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
