The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Yiyo Ponte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavier Bouzas, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute Luis Cazorla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yiyo Ponte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Cela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualterio Suarez to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the match, Luis Cazorla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yiyo Ponte. Cela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Cazorla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 25th minute, Xavier Bouzas made a precise shot to the right of Yiyo Ponte. Cela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 27th minute, Unax Echavarri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laureano Buenafuente got free with Toni Villalcazar in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Filomeno Vila fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cela's protests and gave Filomeno Vila a yellow card for diving instead. Yiyo Ponte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chayo Rodriguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Chayo Rodriguez notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Cela's Yiyo Ponte. Yiyo Ponte was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cela's Yiyo Ponte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chayo Rodriguez in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Hibai Lacorte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Salto Del Lobo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Filomeno Vila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Cela's Gualterio Suarez got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Yiyo Ponte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Bouzas in the 44th minute of play. Yiyo Ponte came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Salto Del Lobo's Chayo Rodriguez. But to his dismay, Chayo Rodriguez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The Cela players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Salto Del Lobo were winning 0-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xavier Bouzas made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Xavier Bouzas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yiyo Ponte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chayo Rodriguez took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yiyo Ponte. Yiyo Ponte dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Chayo Rodriguez's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Yiyo Ponte skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 62nd minute Xavier Bouzas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yiyo Ponte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yiyo Ponte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hibai Lacorte, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Yiyo Ponte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xavier Bouzas's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Yiyo Ponte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hibai Lacorte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carolo Elguero hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Yiyo Ponte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Bouzas in the 96th minute of play. When the match was over Salto Del Lobo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cela throughout the match.
