The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Reinaldo Feal came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Yosa's Anaya Sánchez. But to his dismay, Anaya Sánchez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Reinaldo Feal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicholas March, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reinaldo Feal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Veto Costa in the 11th minute of play. Reinaldo Feal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Veto Costa in the 20th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Hipolito Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. NEWELLS OLD BOYS's supporters rose to their feet, but Hipolito Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lonzo Beloki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When NEWELLS OLD BOYS's Baudilio Contreras in 26 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Lonzo Beloki guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. The supporters of Yosa booed when NEWELLS OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giorgio Pastor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Veto Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Feal having to interfere. Reinaldo Feal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicholas March, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After a rather tough play, Yosa's Tabor Prats got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Nicholas March scored 0-4 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reinaldo Feal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Yosa were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hipolito Sancho was the one to do the kick off. Nicholas March struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Reinaldo Feal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yosa. Nicholas March could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Reinaldo Feal made a huge save. Reinaldo Feal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Veto Costa in the 55th minute of the match. NEWELLS OLD BOYS's Reinaldo Feal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save NEWELLS OLD BOYS from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Yosa getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Xove Bermudez hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Llinares during the 66th minute. Anaya Sánchez's late challenge caught a NEWELLS OLD BOYS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anaya Sánchez helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Yosa getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Anaya Sánchez hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, NEWELLS OLD BOYS's Rubén Esteban got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Reinaldo Feal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Veto Costa in the 85th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Nicholas March could shoot a difficult shot in the 88th minute, which Reinaldo Feal however easily saved by the left post. In the 93rd minute Veto Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinaldo Feal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 played minutes NEWELLS OLD BOYS got a freekick which was hit by Eder Cacheres. Yosa's Ricardo Cienfuegos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 94th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Reinaldo Feal but with some difficulty. The Yosa players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
