If Prospero Verdu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oriol Sauca in the 10th minute of play forced La Victoria CF's goalkeeper Taurino Naranjo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taurino Naranjo came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Monells SD's Arxel Castelao. But to his dismay, Arxel Castelao quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Xelo Sabina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubén Casillas. Monells SD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xelo Sabina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Xelo Sabina managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Victoria CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Xelo Sabina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubén Casillas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xelo Sabina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rubén Casillas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. If Xelo Sabina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Arxel Castelao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prospero Verdu in the 42nd minute of play forced Monells SD's goalkeeper Rubén Casillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prospero Verdu struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Rubén Casillas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Victoria CF. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xelo Sabina made a kick off. Taurino Naranjo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arxel Castelao, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 56 minutes, Oriol Sauca made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. La Victoria CF's Taurino Naranjo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Xelo Sabina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rubén Casillas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xelo Sabina's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. La Victoria CF's Prospero Verdu got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 74 minutes, Lluis Pedrosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monells SD and the La Victoria CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of La Victoria CF booed when Monells SD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lluis Pedrosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. La Victoria CF's Xelo Sabina got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Prospero Verdu made a precise shot to the right of Rubén Casillas. Monells SD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Oriol Sauca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Taurino Naranjo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lluis Pedrosa got his second yellow card in the match during the 90th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Lluis Pedrosa hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the match, Monells SD's goal looked a bit too open when Xelo Sabina came free, but Rubén Casillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Prospero Verdu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubén Casillas having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
