Felipe Ocaña didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Victoria CF. After a defensive mix-up in La Victoria CF's zone, Nel Huguet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taurino Naranjo came out of the goal and Nel Huguet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xelo Sabina in the 10th minute of play forced Ermua AD's goalkeeper Felipe Ocaña to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prospero Verdu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Ocaña having to interfere. After 20 played minutes La Victoria CF got a freekick which was hit by Leroy Zubiaga. Gabriel Quintero charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Quintero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 24th minute, Gabriel Quintero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Xelo Sabina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to La Victoria CF getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Leroy Zubiaga hit a great ball. After 28 minutes, Xelo Sabina mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Victoria CF and the Ermua AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Ermua AD got a freekick which was hit by Ferrer Izaguirre. Felipe Ocaña made an important save on a dangerous shot by Prospero Verdu in the 33rd minute. La Victoria CF's Taurino Naranjo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ebardo Ponte in the 39th minute of play. After 40 played minutes La Victoria CF got a freekick which was hit by Gartzea Soldado. The audience was convinced that Ebardo Ponte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Taurino Naranjo was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Xelo Sabina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Ocaña having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Ermua AD's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Prospero Verdu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Prospero Verdu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 49th minute of the match, but Felipe Ocaña made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ebardo Ponte was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ebardo Ponte in the 55th minute of play forced La Victoria CF's goalkeeper Taurino Naranjo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nel Huguet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Xelo Sabina might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felipe Ocaña. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xelo Sabina ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 66th minute Prospero Verdu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Ocaña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ebardo Ponte in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Taurino Naranjo saved La Victoria CF from getting behind. After 70 played minutes La Victoria CF got a freekick which was hit by Gartzea Soldado. Nel Huguet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Taurino Naranjo made a huge save. Taurino Naranjo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ebardo Ponte, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Xelo Sabina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Taurino Naranjo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ebardo Ponte in the 83rd minute of the match. Tino Estrada was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 89 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for La Victoria CF. Vincente Amorebieta stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Felipe Ocaña. 2-0. Felipe Ocaña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xelo Sabina in the 97th minute of the match. La Victoria CF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
