Adalberto Delgado came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Monzalbarba AFC's George Erosa. But to his dismay, George Erosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Batista Coello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remigio España read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Breixo Bodelon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Monzalbarba AFC's Remigio España got control of the ball when Breixo Bodelon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Monzalbarba AFC's Remigio España proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Monzalbarba AFC from getting a goal against them. 24 minutes into the match, Monzalbarba AFC's Vitor Santalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adalberto Delgado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 27 in the game by Batista Coello from a close distance when the talented Remigio España managed to make a qualified save. Monzalbarba AFC's players were relieved. Fredo Llorca kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After 33 minutes, Nazario Patiño mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santa Mera AD and the Monzalbarba AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Nazario Patiño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute Frederick Estrada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigio España saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Napoleón Vilanova struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Adalberto Delgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monzalbarba AFC. If George Erosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remigio España took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Batista Coello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when George Erosa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Monzalbarba AFC booed when Santa Mera AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tebaldo Serena didn't get a good kick on the ball. George Erosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Breixo Bodelon in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Remigio España saved Monzalbarba AFC from getting behind. If George Erosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 played minutes Santa Mera AD got a freekick which was hit by Nazario Patiño. Monzalbarba AFC's Remigio España played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Batista Coello in the 74th minute of play. Froilan Sanz hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
