Licerio Marcos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pepe Duarte in the 20th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Las Arenas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Cameno came free, but Licerio Marcos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pepe Duarte in the 25th minute of play forced Las Arenas FC's goalkeeper Licerio Marcos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Las Arenas FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Isauro Buendia hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Licerio Marcos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Oswaldo Espinosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Lastras in the 41st minute of play. Alfonso Cameno might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Licerio Marcos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfonso Cameno ran back to his position shaking his head. After 44 played minutes Las Arenas FC got a freekick which was hit by Isauro Buendia. Román Landa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After 53 minutes, Hegoi Laredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mugueimes and the Las Arenas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 minutes of play Mugueimes's Hegoi Laredo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 60th match minute, Mugueimes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hegoi Laredo to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Román Landa got free with Oswaldo Espinosa in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 64 played minutes Mugueimes got a freekick which was hit by Eneko Castan. Licerio Marcos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Cameno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oswaldo Espinosa made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Román Landa sent off a good shot on target. Román Landa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Espinosa having to interfere. If Adriano Lastras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mugueimes's Oswaldo Espinosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Mugueimes from getting a goal against them. Román Landa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Oswaldo Espinosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
