The referee ignored Benia De Onis SD's protests and gave Xusto Arias a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Benia De Onis SD's Xusto Arias got a free kick in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Ekaitz Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. The El Grao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Federico Helguera's late challenge caught a Benia De Onis SD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Federico Helguera helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Benia De Onis SD booed when El Grao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Helguera didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in El Grao's zone, Ekaitz Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amuruza Bodelon came out of the goal and Ekaitz Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Veremundo Turienzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertol Ziguenza in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match El Grao got a corner. Benia De Onis SD's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roldán Ponte ran over to the corner to take the kick. 42 minutes into the game, El Grao's Galeno Zapico nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Veremundo Turienzo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. A collision led to Benia De Onis SD getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Bibiano Odín hit a great ball.

Amuruza Bodelon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ekaitz Moreira in the 53rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ekaitz Moreira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amuruza Bodelon was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Amuruza Bodelon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ekaitz Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
