Martín Ponce succeeded in the game's 21st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Lawrence Herrera kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martín Ponce in the 25th minute of play forced El Grao's goalkeeper Amuruza Bodelon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Esposende getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Taio Echeto hit a great ball. Amuruza Bodelon came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Esposende's Velasco Delgado. But to his dismay, Velasco Delgado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 35th minute Velasco Delgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amuruza Bodelon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esposende's Velasco Delgado got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Velasco Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amuruza Bodelon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garaona Labarra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

In the 56th minute, Nicodemo Roca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amuruza Bodelon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The El Grao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Lawrence Herrera charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lawrence Herrera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amuruza Bodelon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Velasco Delgado in the 77th minute. Velasco Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of El Grao:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Esposende:s goal. The supporters of El Grao booed when Esposende was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taio Echeto didn't get a good kick on the ball.
