Alfonso Aranzubia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Quintero having to interfere. Nastasio Galego's late challenge caught a Herbon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nastasio Galego helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th match minute, Castellon AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nastasio Galego to maneuver through the defense. Alfonso Aranzubia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Wilfredo Quintero skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ponciano Morado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fix Casero having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Castellon AFC's Ponciano Morado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fix Casero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Alfonso Aranzubia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wilfredo Quintero, 1-0. Wilfredo Quintero was a little too slow when Igor Teresa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Igor Teresa to strike the kick off in the second half. Simon Villanueva hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 56th minute, Ponciano Morado fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fix Casero, passed just outside the right post. Igor Teresa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Wilfredo Quintero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ponciano Morado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Igor Teresa took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilfredo Quintero. Wilfredo Quintero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 72 minutes into the match, Herbon's goal looked a bit too open when Bertol Pastor came free, but Fix Casero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfonso Aranzubia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Wilfredo Quintero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Alfonso Aranzubia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th match minute, Herbon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolomé Castan to maneuver through the defense. If Ponciano Morado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Bertol Pastor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Castellon AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
