An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Serrano in the 25th minute of play forced El Puerto De Santa María's goalkeeper Ibar Urbina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose-Manuel Madariaga's late challenge caught a Esclanyà AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Magdaleno Llorente couldn't finish the play. Carlomagno Vila hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. A collision led to El Puerto De Santa María getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Dante Dobale hit a great ball. Esclanyà AFC were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after El Puerto De Santa María's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Romeo Urquijo took the corner. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Magdaleno Llorente to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Esclanyà AFC's zone, Felipe Pujol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Venancio Cazorla came out of the goal and Felipe Pujol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Felipe Pujol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Venancio Cazorla was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. El Puerto De Santa María's Ibar Urbina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toni Serrano in the 64th minute of play. Felipe Pujol scored 2-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Venancio Cazorla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 70 minutes into the match, Esclanyà AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Magdaleno Llorente came free, but Venancio Cazorla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A wasted opportunity for El Puerto De Santa María. 93 minutes into the match, El Puerto De Santa María's Magdaleno Llorente sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Venancio Cazorla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ekain Zafrilla came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Esclanyà AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ekain Zafrilla couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. El Puerto De Santa María had played much better football throughout.
