Agustín Mala lost his temper 6 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Castalla! In the 8th minute there was a penalty for Meliana AFC. Lauro Viqueira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hechter Turienzo. 1-0. If Xandro Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 15 minutes, Narciso Baños managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castalla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narciso Baños was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th match minute, Meliana AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilio Campoamor to maneuver through the defense. Melchor Verdaguer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joan Gil having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Narciso Baños had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joan Gil. Meliana AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Narciso Baños was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Eliseo Vila managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meliana AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Vila was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hechter Turienzo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xandro Freires short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Hechter Turienzo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Xuoco De Pablo charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xuoco De Pablo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Xuoco De Pablo kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 34thth minute of the game Eliseo Vila who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Castalla's Hechter Turienzo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eliseo Vila blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hechter Turienzo having to make a save. Meliana AFC's Eliseo Vila pulled a muscle in his back after 39 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Oliverio Acosta's late challenge caught a Meliana AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oliverio Acosta helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Castalla:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Meliana AFC:s goal. If Xandro Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute Xandro Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hechter Turienzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Xandro Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute, Xandro Freire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Xandro Freire blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hechter Turienzo having to make a save. Hechter Turienzo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meliana AFC. In the 67th minute Xandro Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hechter Turienzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Narciso Baños got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meliana AFC. 76 minutes into the match, Meliana AFC's goalkeeper Joan Gil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Narciso Baños. When Narciso Baños came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Castalla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narciso Baños couldn't finish the play. Xandro Freire's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hechter Turienzo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Meliana AFC had won after a very even match.
