Veto Garzon charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Veto Garzon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marco Comas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Demario Garate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Comas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Demario Garate in the 26th minute of the match. After 27 minutes, Cebrián Goyanes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Pedroso UD and the Gimeno players grew even worse after the yellow card. El Pedroso UD's Marco Comas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pere Sans in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 36 minutes, Pere Sans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimeno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pere Sans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Demario Garate received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Marco Comas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Garay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Demario Garate to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Dante Beloki was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gimeno's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Pedroso UD the free kick. If Pere Sans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Comas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Demario Garate in the 62nd minute of play. If Pere Sans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodolfo Macías in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Melquiades Canal saved Gimeno from getting behind. Veto Garzon was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Veto Garzon hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Macías in the 76th minute of play forced Gimeno's goalkeeper Melquiades Canal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pere Sans kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 79thth minute. Though ot was a great shot El Pedroso UD's keeper Marco Comas was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Julio Garay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87thth minute of the game Rodolfo Macías who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gimeno's Melquiades Canal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Julio Garay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Melquiades Canal was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. If Julio Garay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
