The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cayetano Canyelles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Casasana CD booed when Salt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulino Barba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casasana CD's Oriol Echeto shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 15th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Delmiro Santiago but with some difficulty. Delmiro Santiago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerrold Quintero, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. With his leg Delmiro Santiago managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Casasana CD's Patricio Fuster fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Paulino Barba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Salt getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Allande Aizpurua hit a great ball. Jerrold Quintero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Delmiro Santiago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fran Rallo charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fran Rallo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Salt getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Fran Rallo hit a great ball. If Jerrold Quintero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 41 minutes, Patricio Fuster managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casasana CD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Fuster was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cayetano Canyelles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Barba in the 46th minute of play. A collision led to Casasana CD getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Pablo Pascual hit a great ball. Salt's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roberto Galego in the 50th minute. The corner led Salt's Roberto Galego to fire away a dangerous shot which Cayetano Canyelles despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerrold Quintero was the one to do the kick off. Casasana CD's Cayetano Canyelles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Casasana CD from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute, Felipillo Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felipillo Reyes hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute, Roberto Galego sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Casasana CD's Cayetano Canyelles didn't even have to move. Cayetano Canyelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eloy Silva in the 65th minute of the match. Melkor Astudillo hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Patricio Fuster recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 72 minutes, Jerrold Quintero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casasana CD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerrold Quintero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jerrold Quintero came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Casasana CD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerrold Quintero couldn't finish the play. Casasana CD's Cayetano Canyelles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Casasana CD from getting a goal against them. Eloy Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cayetano Canyelles having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Eloy Silva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cayetano Canyelles was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Salt's Allande Aizpurua suffered a concussion in the 96th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Pablo Pascual charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
