The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Larpe Pascua came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Puente Tocinos AFC's Dalmacio Redondo. But to his dismay, Dalmacio Redondo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Pablo-Enrique Quintero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Titos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmacio Redondo in the 15th minute of play forced Balones SD's goalkeeper Larpe Pascua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loren Abascal in the 16th minute of play forced Balones SD's goalkeeper Larpe Pascua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mané Titos might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pablo-Enrique Quintero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mané Titos ran back to his position shaking his head. Rico Rojas's late challenge caught a Balones SD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rico Rojas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Rico Rojas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dalmacio Redondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricart Solo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Larpe Pascua. Balones SD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Puente Tocinos AFC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Rico Rojas hit a great ball. After 32 played minutes, Balones SD's Peio Salan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pablo-Enrique Quintero came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Balones SD reached it. Zeledon Solo charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeledon Solo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 40 played minutes Balones SD got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Pareja. The audience was convinced that Loren Abascal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Larpe Pascua was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. If Loren Abascal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute, Balones SD's Conrado Mora dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

If Loren Abascal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Larpe Pascua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmacio Redondo in the 60th minute of the match. Balones SD's Larpe Pascua proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Balones SD from getting a goal against them. Bartolomé Vera charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bartolomé Vera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 66th minute, Bartolomé Vera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Loren Abascal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Balones SD's Larpe Pascua got control of the ball when Loren Abascal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Larpe Pascua was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Dalmacio Redondo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dalmacio Redondo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Conrado Mora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Pablo-Enrique Quintero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pablo-Enrique Quintero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Mora in the 97th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Puente Tocinos AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
