After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Hanot Feliu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Medina Azahara FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hanot Feliu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergi Salgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zeruko Gimenez succeeded in the game's 19th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. The supporters of Valsequillo De Gran Canaria SD booed when Medina Azahara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Contratas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Jaime Pais managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valsequillo De Gran Canaria SD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Pais was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Medina Azahara FC's zone, Jaime Pais stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martín Gala came out of the goal and Jaime Pais tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaime Pais might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martín Gala. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaime Pais ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th match minute, Valsequillo De Gran Canaria SD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergi Climent to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute of the match Eriberto Zapater shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sergi Salgado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Martín Gala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmu Valdivia, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. If Jaime Pais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cristiano Contratas fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Medina Azahara FC's protests and gave Cristiano Contratas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Medina Azahara FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Cristiano Contratas hit a great ball. In the 49th minute, Sergi Climent sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Medina Azahara FC's Martín Gala didn't even have to move. After the first half Medina Azahara FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeruko Gimenez was the one to do the kick off. Ciro Saez hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Sergi Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Zapater in the 54th minute of the match. Hanot Feliu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergi Salgado having to interfere. Zeruko Gimenez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 minutes, Barros Saura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Valsequillo De Gran Canaria SD and the Medina Azahara FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Medina Azahara FC's Martín Gala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pais in the 91st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hanot Feliu got free with Sergi Salgado in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
