After having played for 3 minutes, Toni Zubiaga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paterna FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toni Zubiaga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerardo Rico's late challenge caught a Paterna FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerardo Rico helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, El Molar's Gerardo Rico got a free kick in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in El Molar's zone, Toni Zubiaga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natal Marin came out of the goal and Toni Zubiaga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Paterna FC's Yago Colillas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natal Marin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, El Molar's Blanco Sampil got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 24 minutes, Toni Zubiaga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paterna FC and the El Molar players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th minute, Toni Zubiaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yago Colillas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Natal Marin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Yago Colillas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerardo Rico blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lluciano Uria having to make a save. When Castulo Balcells came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the El Molar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Castulo Balcells couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Rico in the 45th minute of play forced Paterna FC's goalkeeper Lluciano Uria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yago Colillas was the one to do the kick off. Natal Marin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvino Vicente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Castulo Balcells sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the match, El Molar's goal looked a bit too open when Toni Zubiaga came free, but Natal Marin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Castulo Balcells fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lluciano Uria having to interfere. Lluciano Uria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Rico in the 62nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Paterna FC's Bibiano Zamora got a free kick in the 64th minute. Blanco Sampil struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Lluciano Uria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Molar.
