The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to La Aceña getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Antxo Galdamez hit a great ball. Cruz Zaplana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adalberto Palencia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the match, La Aceña's Antxo Galdamez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zoilo Cuevas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 7 minutes in the game, Antxo Galdamez fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Zoilo Cuevas having to interfere. Edilberto Jauregui could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Zoilo Cuevas made a huge save. The supporters of La Aceña booed when Beniarbeig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alcadio Velazquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adalberto Palencia struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Cruz Zaplana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beniarbeig. Cruz Zaplana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Palencia, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, Edilberto Jauregui ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zoilo Cuevas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Zoilo Cuevas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antxo Galdamez in the 27th minute of play. Adalberto Palencia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cruz Zaplana having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Antxo Galdamez rounded Beniarbeig's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. 45 minutes into the game, Felix Llinares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Aceña's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beniarbeig the free kick. In the 45th minute, Felix Llinares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute of the match Artzai Aizpurua shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cruz Zaplana showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antxo Galdamez to strike the kick off in the second half. Cruz Zaplana made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Adalberto Palencia sent off a good shot on target. Adalberto Palencia was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. Beniarbeig's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Artzai Aizpurua kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 75th match minute, La Aceña was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Fuentes to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by La Aceña's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Artzai Aizpurua was slow to take the kick. During this time Beniarbeig's players had a chance to rest. Artzai Aizpurua made a great header on Beniarbeig's corner, it was just that La Aceña's Cruz Zaplana managed to reach the ball for a save. Adalberto Palencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Cruz Zaplana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
