In the 11th minute, Araya SD's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Espartaco Clos fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 20th minute, Ander De la Torre fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Luis-Jose Castillo, passed just outside the right post. Urko Grau dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 27 minutes, Batista Estrada mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Araya SD and the Sagunto FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sagunto FC's Joel Checa shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Luis-Jose Castillo but with some difficulty. Araya SD's Federico Zapico got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fermín Casanova received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Urko Grau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sagunto FC's Urko Grau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Zapico in the 36th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Ander De la Torre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sagunto FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ander De la Torre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luis-Jose Castillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Araya SD's Luis-Jose Castillo got control of the ball when Espartaco Clos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 46thth minute of the game Federico Zapico who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sagunto FC's Urko Grau was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ander De la Torre to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Fermín Casanova managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araya SD's supporters rose to their feet, but Fermín Casanova was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Urko Grau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fermín Casanova in the 53rd minute of play forced Sagunto FC's goalkeeper Urko Grau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Federico Zapico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Espartaco Clos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Luis-Jose Castillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luis-Jose Castillo came out of the goal and Ander De la Torre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Fermín Casanova got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 82nd minute, Fermín Casanova got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Federico Zapico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urko Grau having to interfere. Espartaco Clos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Luis-Jose Castillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Federico Zapico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Urko Grau was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Fermín Casanova capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fermín Casanova really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
