The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Urko Alavedra during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bartolo Blazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Maldonado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Ibon Verdu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bartolo Blazquez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aratz Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Villena got a freekick which was hit by Odon Navas. In the 53rd minute Aratz Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nabucodonosor Caminero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gamiz FC's zone, Igor Maldonado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bartolo Blazquez came out of the goal and Igor Maldonado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfons Sevilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villena's Nabucodonosor Caminero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidel Alcantara in the 74th minute of play. Bartolo Blazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Maldonado in the 78th minute of play. When Fidel Alcantara came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Gamiz FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fidel Alcantara couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Fidel Alcantara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nabucodonosor Caminero was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. If Aratz Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Villena getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Alfons Sevilla hit a great ball. Bartolo Blazquez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfons Sevilla in the 96th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
