In the 15th match minute, Benidoleig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gallo Vicente to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 16 minutes, Raúl Montiel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portbou's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raúl Montiel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Portbou's Ubarna Garzon got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenz Etxeberria in the 20th minute of play forced Portbou's goalkeeper Peli Valdivia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lorenz Etxeberria in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peli Valdivia saved Portbou from getting behind. Peli Valdivia made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Ametz Mudarra sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Benidoleig booed when Portbou was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubarna Garzon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Lorenz Etxeberria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peli Valdivia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Benidoleig's zone, Pancho Benítez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Víctor Alcalde came out of the goal and Pancho Benítez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Víctor Alcalde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pancho Benítez's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. In the 48th minute Raúl Montiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víctor Alcalde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raúl Montiel made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ametz Mudarra in the 58th minute of play forced Portbou's goalkeeper Peli Valdivia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ametz Mudarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peli Valdivia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boni Zafrilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorenz Etxeberria kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. With his leg Víctor Alcalde managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Portbou's Pancho Benítez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Portbou's Peli Valdivia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ametz Mudarra in the 75th minute of play. Víctor Alcalde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Montiel in the 85th minute of play. Raúl Montiel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Víctor Alcalde having to interfere. Lorenz Etxeberria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peli Valdivia having to interfere. Benidoleig's Víctor Alcalde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Montiel in the 95th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portbou players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Benidoleig.
