Goyo Contreras didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cuencabuena. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Villarrubia FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ricardo Torrent ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 90 played minutes Villarrubia FC got a freekick which was hit by Pio Alvarez. After having played for 91 minutes, Ricardo Torrent managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuencabuena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Torrent was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nemesio Soler in the 95th minute of play forced Cuencabuena's goalkeeper Mino Huarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Goyo Contreras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Apolinar Pais in the 97th minute of play. The Cuencabuena players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
