Leonardo Fuente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Acosta, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute, Virgilio Acosta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eladio Otero was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arnaldo Beloki showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 32 minute of play. Granda's Eladio Otero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Beloki in the 39th minute of play. Orlondo Yeste's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eladio Otero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After taking down the ball on Granda's corner Bermudo Alonso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Leonardo Fuente quite easily take care of the ball. Orlondo Yeste hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnaldo Beloki to make the kick off. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of Granda:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Villa Sol:s goal. Tabb Lagunas placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 57th minute Zigor Losada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eladio Otero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Granda's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Beloki came free, but Eladio Otero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgilio Acosta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leonardo Fuente came out and tried to block the shot, but Virgilio Acosta slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 65th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Granda's goal looked a bit too open when Orlondo Yeste came free, but Eladio Otero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 minutes of play, Villa Sol's Arnaldo Beloki made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eladio Otero was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Arnaldo Beloki came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Villa Sol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Beloki couldn't finish the play. Orlondo Yeste sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute Arnaldo Beloki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eladio Otero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgilio Acosta might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Fuente. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Virgilio Acosta ran back to his position shaking his head. If Arnaldo Beloki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Granda getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Tonio Barbosa hit a great ball. In the 98th minute, Arnaldo Beloki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
