The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 14th match minute, Reus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iamín Abad to maneuver through the defense. Federico Zubizarreta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Federico Zubizarreta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Reus's Bonifacio Santos got control of the ball when Lazcano Dean tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Paco Jurado had to leave the field with a concussion. Iamín Abad kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Lazcano Dean kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 35thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Reus's keeper Bonifacio Santos was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Zeru Font fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilen Viejo having to interfere. In the 54th minute Nicasio Dulce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilen Viejo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the game, Federico Zubizarreta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Llofriu AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reus the free kick. After a rather tough play, Llofriu AFC's Federico Zubizarreta got a free kick in the 59th minute. Zeru Font received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Gilen Viejo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Nicasio Dulce took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Gilen Viejo to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 75 minutes, Zeru Font managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Reus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeru Font was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Reus's Siro Briso got a free kick in the 87th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Reus's Zeru Font sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilen Viejo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Llofriu AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Reus's performance. The match ended with a win for Reus.
