The supporters of Somosierra CF booed when Portugalete was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bastian Verges didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute Nagoi Villafane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garcilaso Bargas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Blanco Roman charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Blanco Roman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Portugalete's Blanco Roman got a free kick in the 51st minute. Tiago Palomar was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Bruno Ribeiro. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Lolo Pedrosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugalete's supporters rose to their feet, but Lolo Pedrosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago Palomar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the game, Nagoi Villafane cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Garcilaso Bargas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Lolo Pedrosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saul Martinez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garcilaso Bargas having to interfere. Nagoi Villafane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Garcilaso Bargas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Portugalete's Garcilaso Bargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nagoi Villafane in the 87th minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Román Puyol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Somosierra CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portugalete the free kick. Zahar Gasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Somosierra CF were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Portugalete for a fine match.
