Ariel Saez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zuri Cabrera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Antxo Prieto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zuri Cabrera having to interfere. Furman Bastida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Merino having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Nueva Torrevieja's zone, Sinforiano Lagunas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. When Saturnino Rico came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Roses AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saturnino Rico couldn't finish the play.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Argenis Novo during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Roses AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
