Poncio Gimeno struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Alfredo Casillas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villa Sol FC. Alfredo Casillas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Salazar, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Geremia Solana was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 36 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, one of Basauri FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Basauri FC. If Arbas Arratia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Villa Sol FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Poncio Gimeno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Goyo Contratas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Jimenez having to interfere. After having played for 82 minutes, Valerio Solano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goyo Contratas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Norberto Jimenez made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlondo Cabanela in the 88th minute of play forced Villa Sol FC's goalkeeper Norberto Jimenez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
