Fausto Manrique's late challenge caught a Canyamars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fausto Manrique helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Lerruz UD's Fausto Manrique got a free kick in the 4th minute. Lerruz UD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Guillerme De Toro scored to the left of an out of position Pascal Aceves, making the score, 1-0. Pascal Aceves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Espinosa in the 12th minute. Leizarraga Morado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Locaio Erosa in the 15th minute of play. Guillerme De Toro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcos Espinosa got free with Pascal Aceves in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Virgilio Baeza hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Marcos Espinosa struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Pascal Aceves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canyamars. In the 29th minute of the match Román Mera sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leizarraga Morado skillfully saved the ball. Simon Acosta hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Locaio Erosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leizarraga Morado having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Canyamars's Erlantz Gala seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Erlantz Gala the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Canyamars protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Erlantz Gala had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 32 minutes into the game, one of Canyamars:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Lerruz UD a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Román Mera, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Canyamars's Leizarraga Morado. 1-1. Lerruz UD's Fausto Manrique got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Virgilio Baeza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Lerruz UD's zone, Arnalt Abascal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pascal Aceves came out of the goal and Arnalt Abascal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcos Espinosa was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute Fausto Manrique shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leizarraga Morado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Locaio Erosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lerruz UD's supporters rose to their feet, but Locaio Erosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leizarraga Morado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arnalt Abascal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fausto Manrique had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lerruz UD's Locaio Erosa got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th match minute, Canyamars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Ortega to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Román Mera in the 67th minute really tested Leizarraga Morado's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Fausto Manrique sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Locaio Erosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Manrique in the 76th minute of play forced Canyamars's goalkeeper Leizarraga Morado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Fausto Manrique shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leizarraga Morado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd match minute, Canyamars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnalt Abascal to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Manrique sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 88 minutes, Locaio Erosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lerruz UD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Locaio Erosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, Canyamars could leave the field as winners, despite Lerruz UD having more of the ball for most of the match.
