Ontígola's Toro Campello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Velazquez in the 2nd minute of play. Evelio Velazquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toro Campello having to interfere. If Jacques Canyelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose-Antonio Mala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pau Galdamez in the 8th minute of play. Ontígola's Jacques Canyelles got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toro Campello was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Evelio Velazquez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Evelio Velazquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Santurtzi getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Mino Feliu hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Ontígola's goal looked a bit too open when Evelio Velazquez came free, but Toro Campello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th match minute, Ontígola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prudencio Pascua to maneuver through the defense. If Evelio Velazquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose-Antonio Mala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacques Canyelles in the 33rd minute of the match. If Jacques Canyelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evelio Velazquez was the one to do the kick off. Prudencio Pascua kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Claudio Sarrate made a precise shot to the right of Toro Campello. Ontígola's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Lobo Tarin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Toro Campello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Lobo Tarin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santurtzi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 69 minutes into the match, Santurtzi's goalkeeper Jose-Antonio Mala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacques Canyelles. 70 minutes into the game, Gomesano Mangas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ontígola's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santurtzi the free kick. Benedicto Lastras hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evelio Velazquez in the 74th minute of play forced Ontígola's goalkeeper Toro Campello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Pau Galdamez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jose-Antonio Mala. Pau Galdamez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Romulo Mezquita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Jose-Antonio Mala made a huge save. The supporters of Santurtzi booed when Ontígola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacques Canyelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute of the match, Jacques Canyelles tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jose-Antonio Mala saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pau Galdamez scored 3-2 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jose-Antonio Mala, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ontígola's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
