The supporters of Galarreta booed when Santa Seclina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Tobias didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Reimundo Barrientos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonsalve Mayol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirino Reyes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the game, Santa Seclina FC's Playo Montero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonsalve Mayol made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Xamin Figueroa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Astudillo having to interfere. When Anchel Cartagena came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Galarreta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anchel Cartagena couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Galarreta getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Xamin Figueroa hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Playo Montero in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gonsalve Mayol saved Galarreta from getting behind. When Santa Seclina FC's Playo Montero in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galarreta's goalie prevented a goal. When Reimundo Barrientos came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Galarreta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reimundo Barrientos couldn't finish the play. Anchel Cartagena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 43 played minutes Santa Seclina FC got a freekick which was hit by Ion Nieto. Reimundo Barrientos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Dario Astudillo 45 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Reimundo Barrientos scored 2-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dario Astudillo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Albino Idiaquez fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galarreta's protests and gave Albino Idiaquez a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd minute, Xamin Figueroa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Ion Nieto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santa Seclina FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galarreta the free kick. Ion Nieto hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Santa Seclina FC's Cirino Reyes got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Playo Montero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute Playo Montero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonsalve Mayol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
