Almarín Labarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Policarpio Patiño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alejo Alabern kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. A collision led to Alonsotegi FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Jakes Cano hit a great ball. Talayuela's Policarpio Patiño got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Raúl Prats had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute Jakes Cano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Durango saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 44 minutes into the game, when Geleberto Bermudez put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Alonsotegi FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! Almarín Labarra had in the 47thth minute some difficulties stopping Xabat Salan's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raúl Prats to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Michael Silvestre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Almarín Labarra was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. 59 minutes into the match, Alonsotegi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Policarpio Patiño came free, but Almarín Labarra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
