In the 6th match minute, Talayuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Cifuentes to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Angel Justo from long distance, 7 minutes into the match, got Manuel Durango's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 12 minutes into the match, Talayuela's goal looked a bit too open when Frisco Bajo came free, but Manuel Durango reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ariel Sirvent charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ariel Sirvent the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Talayuela booed when San Sebastián was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ariel Sirvent didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st match minute, San Sebastián was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timoteo Gene to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute of the match Xabat Salan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xines Lorenzo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Domenico Segarra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Manuel Durango tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Frisco Bajo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michael Silvestre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xines Lorenzo having to make a save. San Sebastián's Xines Lorenzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Policarpio Patiño in the 29th minute of play. After 31 minutes, Noé Elguero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Sebastián and the Talayuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Noé Elguero kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. When Michael Silvestre, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 32 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Xines Lorenzo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Policarpio Patiño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xines Lorenzo having to interfere. Frisco Bajo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 41 minutes, Frisco Bajo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Sebastián's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frisco Bajo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Frisco Bajo came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the San Sebastián fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frisco Bajo couldn't finish the play. Domenico Segarra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Manuel Durango when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Policarpio Patiño to make the kick off. Xines Lorenzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Policarpio Patiño in the 52nd minute of the match. A collision led to Talayuela getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Xesus Montero hit a great ball. Noé Elguero got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 61 minutes into the game, San Sebastián's Domenico Segarra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manuel Durango made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Angel Justo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Durango read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. If Domenico Segarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of San Sebastián booed when Talayuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xesus Montero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Xines Lorenzo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in San Sebastián's zone, Michael Silvestre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xines Lorenzo came out of the goal and Michael Silvestre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Policarpio Patiño in the 81st minute of play forced San Sebastián's goalkeeper Xines Lorenzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Policarpio Patiño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xines Lorenzo having to interfere. After 96 minutes of play, Talayuela's Michael Silvestre made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xines Lorenzo was left in no man's land by his defense there!
