El Portezuelo were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Sant Cugat Del Valles's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Quique Zapatero took the corner. El Portezuelo's Sebastián Escobar got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julen Alavedra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseo Sans read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Eliseo Sans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julen Alavedra, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When Arnaldo Gasso came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the El Portezuelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Gasso couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastián Escobar during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lonzo Jubera got free with Agamenón Camino in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner led Sant Cugat Del Valles's Giraldo Navas to fire away a dangerous shot which Agamenón Camino despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Sant Cugat Del Valles booed when El Portezuelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastián Escobar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sant Cugat Del Valles's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
